Feeding Time

For the feeding of the plants, I’m going to using some Grown-More 30-10-10, Bio Root 0-1-1, and some MykosWP. All of these will be mixed into a five-gallon bucket and give to the plants every 4 days and watering every 2 days. I had a co-worker help me pick this stuff out.

  • Grow-More 30-10-10: This fertilizer is dissolvable in water, and it kind of looks miracle grow. The 30-10-10 is a percentage (NPK ratio) of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The N-P-K ratio refers to the three essential nutrients for plants: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). These nutrients play crucial roles in plant growth and health. Here’s what each one does:

    1. Nitrogen (N):

      • Function: Promotes leaf growth and makes plants greener.

      • Significance: Essential for vegetative growth.

      • Fertilizers: Look for high first numbers (e.g., 24-4-12 or 20-2-6) for nitrogen-rich fertilizers, often used for lawns.

    1. Phosphorus (P):

      • Function: Supports root development, anchoring, and strengthening of plants.

      • Significance: Enhances bloom and fruit production.

      • Fertilizers: Opt for formulations like 5-10-10 for tomatoes and root crops.

    1. Potassium (K):

      • Function: Helps plants fight diseases, withstand extreme temperatures, and maintain vigor.

      • Significance: Vital for overall plant health.

      • Fertilizers: The third number tends to be the smallest because most soils already contain potassium

  • Bio-Roots 0-1-1: This will help the root system develop and help with nutrient absorption it has some of the same benefits of the grow more with the nutrients, but in less formulation. It has been designed to promote root growth using vitamins, enzymes, organic and humic acids. It is beneficial to also us this on seedlings.

  • MykosWP: It offers several benefits for your garden. First, it enhances root growth by forming a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, extending their reach and improving nutrient and water absorption. Second, it increases nutrient uptake, allowing plants to access essential nutrients more efficiently. Third, Mykos-treated plants tend to be more resilient to environmental stressors like drought or disease. Finally, healthier roots lead to better overall plant health and higher crop yields.

I’m hoping that this combination will help make my plants take off and produce bigger and more fruit. Plants do require additional food after the plants have been planted for a while if you don’t have any plants putting nutrients back into the soil. Even plants that have been long established can benefit from feeding probably not this formulation with this much strength. You can use weaker NPK ratio for the established plants or even a powder that release over time when being watered.
