New Plants and ideas
Greetings everyone, I have been busy the past 2 weeks, so this update is going to be a long one. I have gotten a lot of new plants and some flower seeds. But first, I got an update on the yellowing tomato plant, she is doing much better and a lot greener. The garden as a whole is doing a lot better and seems to be taking off for a couple of the plants. I have seen a couple of butterflies and bees flying around, so hopefully I will get some usable seeds from some of the fruit. I have also figured out the ratio for the food to use so that thew plants don’t go into shock from too much Grow-More 30-10-10 due to it being super concentrated. I’m going to be using less than a teaspoon for 5 gallons of water. I’m planning on giving weekly updates about the garden and projects I got going as well as some ideas I have about how to make this eco system better.

The new plants I have gotten have been from two different shopping weekends, sadly I didn’t get pictures of the other one. I have gotten a couple of different pepper plant, cucumber, onions, and herbs. I will post a full list later this week as well as update the plant section with. I have also gotten a couple of wildflower seed packs and planted the rest of my seedlings. The flowers seed packs I got said that they were for bees and insects, which will be important for my future beehives that I would like to try.
I had a busy weekend getting stuff planted and seeded for the week. I went through and cleaned these dirt sections on both sides of the house rental and covered it with the compost that I got from the local garbage company. I planted the Flowers on the east side of the house due to how the sun hits them in afternoon and morning a bit. As for the seeds I planted them on the west side due to the high sunlight and the flowers like full sun. It took a while to soak the soil down and still will require watering every morning and evening for a couple weeks for everything to get settled in and being sprouting. I went through and finished filling out the rest of the space on the second half of the raised bed with some onion seeds and the seedlings I have. I have totally forgot what I planted will I find out when I go to look at the leaves of the plants. I got this raised herb garden bench, as a gift. Putting it together was simple enough and was done in a few minutes. I might have to change out the soil for something different that holds water a lot better as the compost isn’t really holding it as good as the in the raised bed and the sides. Besides the grown seedlings that I got, I have some Garlic and Chive seeds planted in it.
Ideas
Some ideas and projects I got in the works.
Green house: I got a greenhouse planned out for building in the near future. So that it helps with growth during the summer and keep the heat in during the winter to help with the growing for next year. As some of the plants I got live for years, but don’t like the cold I’m hoping this will save them.
Bee Hives: I’m looking at Honeybees, Bumble Bees, and Leafcutter bees for the pollution of the flowers so that I can get seeds for next year and get an early start on the seedlings. I haven’t decided on a type of bee just yet.
Raspberry Pi: After I get the green house built, I’m looking at installing a Raspberry Pi automation tool for watering and monitoring of conditions of the green house.
